"TBP is profoundly distressed to share that pugilist Edy Valencia is battling for his life in an Ontario hospital after his fight against G. Acosta. Veteran promoter Lou DiBella, who recently collaborated with Valencia for one of his events, expressed his shock and concern.

"Devastating news. Edy recently participated in a show I organized and he's a genuinely kind young man. I urge everyone to keep Edy Valencia and his family in their prayers. May God embrace them in his care," DiBella declared.

The bout between Edy Valencia and George Acosta was Valencia's third encounter in the United States in 2023. Moreover, he had another match this year in Guasave, Mexico.
